Blogtoberfest Day #2 ~ To Market

This morning I had a local makers market that is run 4 times a year out at the Australian Inland Botanical Gardens. The venue at the gardens is a woolshed that was completely dismantled from a station/property in the area, moved and re-erected at the gardens. A little quiet today, hopefully a bigger crowd for the Christmas market in December. The photos show the woolshed with the stallholders setting up prior to the opening of the market, and my stall for today.

Turning 4

Master T turns 4 today, so yesterday afternoon we celebrated with a small afternoon tea with family and friends at home. The birthday cake request this year was not one big cake but lots of little decorated cupcakes so hubby and I got busy in the kitchen Sunday night trying to be creative in coming up with lots of different little cupcakes.

A good weekend was had at the Markets, not as busy as what I would have thought, but two lovely markets were done and I am looking forward to some quiet time at home this week, with some crafting, cutting out and sewing while waiting for this baby to make his or her grand entrance at some stage over the coming week or two . . .

My Creative Space

I'm busy adding hangtags and labels to some last minute sewing for this weekend's Easter Markets. You will find me on Saturday at the Magenta Makers Easter Fair at the Australian Inland Botanical Gardens and on Sunday at my usual spot at the Red Cliffs Country Markets. Saturday's market at the Gardens is expected to be a huge event with an anticipated 2000+ people through the gates for the morning - Easter is a huge event in our town! Be early if you want to stock up on your fresh fruit and veg as well as checking out the fantastic local handmakers that are a part of the Magenta Makers Craft Fairs.

I am also 38 weeks pregnant today - time has certainly crept up with that one! All is going well, I just hope this little one stays put til after this weekend's markets! Then I might be able to put my feet up for a day or two ; )

Check out lots of other crafty lovelies HERE.

Advent Blog-a-long Day #6 - Christmas Markets & Store Stocking

Wow, what a weekend. My final two markets for the year went very well, here's some pics from today's market out at Red Cliffs which is a market I do the first Sunday of every month. I have a permanent site on the shady side of the street - right out the front of the local supermarket . . . and the windows showing the beer advertisements, lol. A great spot though which I am really happy with.
I have also been uploading lots of new goodies into my madeit store, but still have LOTS more to add, it is just a slow process. And, I have two special offers happening between now and Christmas! All orders over $15 between now and Christmas will receive a special free gift and all orders over $60 placed between the 7th & 17th December will receive free post (within Australia).
So if you are still looking for that perfect Christmas gift for someone, make sure you pop on over to Madeit - there are lots of very talented crafters / designers / handmakers that I am sure would love to see you all pop into their stores for a browse and even a purchase!

Blogtoberfest Day #3 ~ Meet & Greet

I had a fantastic morning at the markets this morning - four short hours absolutely flew and I didn't get much of a chance to look at some of the other gorgeous goodies on offer.
However, I did finally get the chance to meet Amber from FreshFabricAustralia - it is so nice to put a face to a name! Being a handmade only market she wasn't able to have on offer her fabulous fabrics but she had bought with her a lovely selection of handmade cushions, tops and baby wraps.
My neighbour Leah from Vintage Chenille also had her fabulous selection of handmade softies and quilts.
And I also met at the stall next to me a lovely lady by the name of Veah (yes with a V) from Koolaman Designs who was there on behalf of her daughter who makes the most precious handstamped sterling silver pieces - just devine!
It was wonderful to see such gorgeous handmade goodies as well as many more creations at the market today. I'm looking forward to another great market tomorrow morning, although it will have to be early to bed for me tonight - don't forget daylight savings - wind your clocks FORWARD one hour. At least that means (hopefully) the kids will wake at 7am instead of 6am!

Blogtoberfest Day #2 ~ 3 in 7

Do you think I am ready for 3 markets over the next 7 days?

27 dresses, 29 skirts, a mountain load of fabric covered buttons goodies including hair accessories, bracelets, earrings and badges, plus crayon rolls and bunting, nappy wallets and coin purses and quilts galore. I really hope I don't run out of dresses as I did at the last two day show I did!

I have a market tomorrow morning at the local Inland Botanical Gardens. A great market for handmade only stalls inside an old woolshed. Then Sunday morning one of the local country street markets and next Friday night an indoor market as a fundraiser for one of the local schools. I love doing the markets : )

And on another note, we announced some pretty exciting news to family last night that I am happy to share with my fellow bloggy friends - I'm 12 weeks pregnant!!! Oh my goodness!!! Final addition due to arrive mid April 2010 - Master T has requested another little sister, I'll see what I can do, lol.
