Something new . . .

So its a new website - still a work in progress, but hopefully something that boost's my little business venture up the ladder a bit. The technical jargon is still all new to me, so I am slowly getting it set up when I get some free moments to myself, lol!
I need to get back to sewing, I have had a few surprise sales today in both my Madeit and ETSY stores, and now need to replenish my stock for my market Sunday!
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Getting ready to market

I seem to have been a quiet blogger of late. I have been busy sewing and quilting away in preparation for a few markets coming up between now and Christmas - I can't believe Christmas is so soon! Anyway, I have a market this Sunday coming, plus a big 2 day ag show coming up at the end of August so am busy trying to utilise all the fabric in my stash - to keep hubby happy that I am not over spending on fabric, lol!
Lots more new dresses in the new design
Pretty little skirts
A new play-a-long quilt top finished.
This is a custom order that will be heading to England when complete!
Close up of quilt - perfect boy fabrics! The colours of these traffic jam fabrics are fantastic!

A Quilting we will go . . .

I have been busy this week going through my fabric stash wishing I had more, cutting up lots of market projects ready to sew and doing some quilting. I now have 4 quilts on the go.

This is some gorgeous fabric from the 'Oh Cherry Oh' range. I picked out the deep reds and bright blues from a jelly roll I had and am making these into a 'Take-a-long' quilt in a coin quilt design. Finally a boy's quilt! This is going to be a cot size quilt using these fabulous 'Traffic Jam' fabrics.
Some more fabric from the 'Oh Cherry Oh' range - blocks done and sashing all cut out ready to put this top together for another 'Take-a-long' quilt.
And finally this little completed quilt top - another 'Take-a-long' quilt using the 'Sweet' by Urban Chicks fabrics - just gorgeous!
These quilts are all destined for the shop - hopefully in time for the Christmas in July promotion coming up. Stay tuned to find out what special I will be offering on all items in the shop during the promotion!

Vintage Chenille Giveaway!

My neighbour Leah from Vintage Chenille is having a giveway on her blog. Leah makes the most gorgeous little softies and other goodies from Chenille, you really should check out her shop!
Have a lovely day everyone! I am loving my new bag : )

EB Bag Swap - look what I got! (and what I made)

A big thankyou goes out to my swap partner Lou for this fantastic bag and wallet she made me as part of the EB Bag Swap. I immediatley recognised the pattern and beautiful Amy Butler fabrics - some favourites of mine! Not only is Lou a great sewer, but you really must check out her blog for her amazing photography!
My swap partner that I made a bag for is offline all weekend so will post some pictures now of what I made her as I know she has received it. I chose a pattern by Anna Maria Horner called the 'Multi Tasker Tote'. When I received the pattern and started cutting out my fabric I was worried, because it really is a BIG bag! But my swap partner requested a big bag for EVERYTHING so hopefully she loves it : ) The fabric I got from Spotlight, the outer is a furnishing weight fabric, with the inner 100% cotton. I added lots of extra pockets for the inside including a zippered pocket and key-chain, for a big bag the pattern only offered one pocket on the inside and I decided it definitely needed more.
I also made a matching zippered purse with wrist strap.

I really like this pattern, was a little hard to understand in parts, probably due to lack of sleep on my part, but have had a few requests from friends to make them one as pressies so am definitely going to be making more of these!

So finding that my winner had chosen number #2 as her prize I pondered as to what I was now going to do with prize #1 which is already wrapped and ready to post - and decided to draw another winner and hope that they had chosen #1. That winner is;

Wednesday Weekly Woundup

Or is that Round up? We had a busy weekend outside cleaning up, with the boys doing a spot of lawnmowing to try and keep the winter grass at bay.

I got busy in the kitchen and whipped up one of these salads to take some photos of - sorry can't share the recipe yet - you'll have to wait for a new recipezine due to come out very shortly - stayed tuned for that!

We also had a horrible storm come through that catapulted our trampoline almost through the sliding doors at the back of our house. It was very scary with a huge dust storm turning the sky almost black for a few minutes. I had to get hubby to come home and help me move it out of the way of the doors, some minor damage to the veranda and guttering and a very poor looking trampoline and now sitting outside the doors waiting for hubby to get a chance to assess the damage and see if it is fixable. And a little bit of crafing whipping up some more hair pretties to build up my market stash. I have a market this Sunday and being the school holidays I am hoping it is busy with lots of tourists.
