{I'm back} and I'm busy . . .

So once again its been a while between blog posts but I am determined this time to continue on with blogging about all sorts of things - not much business wise as I've decided to take a small break from my business for a month or two or three to concentrate on everything else that has been happening in our lives and what is still to come over the coming months.

Since my last blog post my 3 little people have all celebrated birthday's and now they are 7, 5 and 3 - how time is flying!!!

We have also made a huge decision to move back into town - buying a block that will put us inner city living. It will fantastic not having to drive into town sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. We will be able to walk everywhere now - just a few hundred metres from school, a short walk to kinder and the town centre not even 15 minutes walk away.

Just under 800m2 and a odd shape with all sorts of easements around it, has made it tricky to find a house plan big enough to accommodate a family of 5, but we finally found a builder and plan which we have modified slightly to suit us. Once bonus is that it is in a quiet court overlooking a park, so what we will loose in backyard space, we will have little traffic coming in and a beautiful park to play and picnic in. And we are definitely putting in a pool with the build - so we are excited!

roughly how the front/back of house will look
rough guide of how the ground floor will be (still waiting on the official plans).
upstairs will be 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a huge retreat area for the kids.

As far as business goes, I am still doing a little creating - but mostly just for me for once. I've decided to put the business on hold to create time for the more important things in life right now - which is my family and everything we have going on.

I've also decided to go back to University this year and am studying to be a Librarian through online learning part time. My plan is to have my qualifications completed to Diploma level by the time Mister 3 starts school (most likely sooner) and then find some part-time employment in a library as a library technician, while I continue on with my Bachelor degree qualification to a fully qualified Librarian. I'm enjoying studying and getting my brain working again on something different.

So stay tuned for more regular blog posts about all sorts of things; my family, building our new home, what crafty things I am making, tutorials I am happy to share about how to create small craft projects, recipes (as I've just purchased myself a thermomix this week and can't wait for it to arrive!) and anything else that takes my fancy.

Thanks for reading x

{all grown up} Master T

This week Master T graduated from Kinder and is off to big school next year as a Prep.
It's a sad and a happy time - sad that he is growing up too fast which tells me I must be getting old! Happy that he is on to the next adventure in his life.
It also means I'm back to just two little ones at home with me, maybe a little bit more sewing time . . . ?

{cubby house progress}

My hubby has been busy over the past few weekends building a fort/cubby house for the 3 little ones. And oh my goodness, he is doing very well! For someone with the use of only one good hand, he's gone from diesel mechanic to desk bound to cubby house builder extraordinaire!
Still a few finishing up jobs to go, like the roof - and then my job of 'fitting out' this monster play area for the kids with curtains, bunting, table and chairs and a kitchen according to Miss M!
More progress pics to come as Miss M & I make a decision on the curtain fabrics . . .

Back to blogging with a PAW

To get me back into blogging for 2011 and get me into using my lovely new camera hubby bought me a few months back I am begining 2011 with something new. I was going to try for a photo a day, but decided a photo a week might be better.
Down at the farm - Tasmania

So every Monday I will post a photo I have taken that week, something random - family, nature, craft who knows. Feel free to join in the fun if you are interested let me know, and I will work out how to do that mr linky thing and set it up for next week.

So each Monday stay tuned for 'PAW' (photo of the week).

Blogtoberfest Day #1 ~ Distraction

I was busy sewing away at my machine while 3 little ones slept, only to be interupted by the littlest man who didn't seem to get mummy's memo about needing to finish off some sewing for tomorrow's market. He seems to have turned into a bit of a cap-napper during the day, but its pretty hard to be mad at this face. Luckily he is happy enough in his rocker while I continue to sew, but he is quite distracting with his cheeky big smiles!

At my house . . .

To get myself back into some regular blogging, I am playing along with Lou today in her regular Monday blog post about what is happening "at my house".
The oldest two are busy doing some watercolour paintings at the kitchen bench. I picked up these little paint sets at Kmart for just $3 each, bargain!
And this little man turned 4 months old on Saturday, goodness me where has that time gone!

Pop by Lou's page to see what's happening at her house, she's been to Ikea - I LOVE Ikea - unfortunately the nearest store is about 5 hours drive away : (

hello blog . . .

its been a while . . .
I am easily distracted by the little people in the house : )

I can't believe Spring/Summer is just around the corner. A photoshoot is all booked with the lovely Angela of Little Fingers Photography for just a couple of weeks time - check out her beautiful photography! I can't wait, and just hope the weather behaves and offers us a warm sunny morning on the day of the shoot!

I have a huge amount of sewing still to get through and a couple of wholesale orders to finish.

For those of you in Brisbane, pop in see Libby at Mini Boutique for some gorgeous new dresses in stock now : )

And for those of you in Canberra, stock for the lovely Katie at MissChief Maker is busily being made and will be in store in late August : ) Three gorgeous designs on their way - all OOAK (one of kind) fabric combinations.

The poor blog has been a little neglected lately, but I promise to get back to blogging now and show you some of what will be coming this Summer in just a few more weeks time . . .

My Creative Space

Bookwork is happening in my creative space today. Nothing exciting, but a job that must be done! And Master T is helping me out by 'sending emails' via the eggcarton laptop - complete with mouse of course! And this little man is keeping us all distracted with his smiles and laughs.
Almost 3 months old, where has that time gone!?

We are having a small party for Miss M's 2nd birthday this afternoon. Family and a few friends sharing an quiet afternoon tea at home and munching into this cake I made last night. Miss M requested a ladybug so hopefully I have delivered!

Turning 2

Today Miss M turns 2 - where in the world have those 2 years gone. Thanks to Daddy's super fast driving skills and a couple of red lights later, mummy landed at the doors of the Hospital with just minutes to spare 2 years ago on this day! While Daddy parked the car you just couldn't wait and as he walked through the delivery suite doors out you came in one fast push! A crazy 55 minutes that was! Yes, in under a hour this little girl decided to wake mummy up with waters breaking and less than an hour later she was in my arms. I have been warned that with baby #3 prehaps I should camp out a little closer to hospital, hmmm . . .
Just a few hours old

Blogtoberfest Day #30 ~ Busy Mess

I am busy trying to get lots of sewing done of my new dress design for Sunday's market amongst other bits and pieces . . .

. . . and Miss M is busy making a mess behind me while I sit at the machine. I've lost track of how many times she has emptied my bin of scraps and threads so I've stopped picking it all up off the floor, it can stay there for now.
Last day of Blogtoberfest tomorrow - the draw for my giveaway will happen sometime during the day : )
