A snapping good buy

This fantastic purchase arrived in the post today. Snaps Australian are having a huge sale at the moment with 40% off snap presses and other great specials - including free post! It was too good to pass up so I purchased myself a press and an assortment of coloured snaps to keep me busy snapping away! I also grabbed a couple of metres of their bamboo fleece which was also too good a price to pass on.
And a couple more applique t's for the collection
And I also got around to framing the gorgeous paper cuts I received in the recent dust craft swap. I decided on plain white frames and boxes with a no matt/no glass finish. They look great in the kids rooms.
I am busy busy sewing away getting ready for 3 (possibly 4) markets over the next 2 weeks. I have 2 this weekend, and one the following Friday night plus a possibility of another in a few weeks just a short drive away. Lots of dresses and skirts, plus a few new designs almost ready : )

Fabric goodness!

Some new fabrics that arrived in the post today all destined for fabric button accessories; hair button ties, pins and clips, sewing button sets, button earrings, button bracelets, button brooches and more!

Kelani Fabric

Retromummy (including a freebie of some super cute ladybugs)

And another go at some applique on a little bodysuit. I realised cutting out the designs it was going to be fiddly being some small, but cute anyway, and a good little gift to put away for someone having a girl. I have 5 friends all due with babies in October/November so surely one of them will have a girl!

EB DQS Sneak Peak #1

Here's just a little peak at my progress so far for the EB Dolls Quilt Swap for 2009. I keep changing my mind as I am sewing as to what I am doing but slowly it is coming together. Lots more still to do - borders and a bit of applique work if I can get my mind set on a final design.

A little elephant

Today I had my first go at doing an applique on a t-shirt and now am wondering why on earth I had put it off for so long. A quick and easy project to jazz up a plain t-shirt using scraps of fabric from your stash! This little elephant is one of many pictures I have drawn in my 'thinking' book of ideas and designs - my original idea was for a softie but I think he looks equally as cute on this little tshirt for Miss M.There will definitely been lots more of these getting whipped up in the weeks to come!

Mini Quiches

Are you like me and struggle to get your little ones to eat their vegies? I have resorted to Master T drinking V8 juice (which he actually loves!) just to get some vegies into him. Anyway, someone past this recipe onto me some time ago and it is one food that has vegies hidden in it that the kids will eat - hooray!
I have a this great little muffin type tin at home that has 24 tiny little muffin holes in it, but half filling larger sized muffin tin holes would suit also.

Ingredients: 3 sheets puff pastry, 4 eggs, milk, diced ham, grated cheese, assorted finely diced vegies of your choice - i use peas, corn, carrot and beans.

Make: I spray my muffin tray with canola spray and then cut out my circles in my puff pastry with an egg ring. I can get 9 circles out of a sheet and then at the end of the 3 sheets squish and roll the scraps to get some more circles to make 24 in total. Place puff pastry circles in muffin holes. Fill each one with your choice of fillings. Top with your egg/milk mix and put in the oven. My oven I am still getting to know, but around 170 (electric fan forced) for about 20 minutes usually does the trick.

Eat: Let them cool down and serve them up. My two like them with tomato sauce, lol.

Craft Swap Goodies

Last month I participated in the DUST monthly craft swap. The Dust Team is a group of Aussie's selling on Etsy and is a great team to be a part of. It amazes me how many of us 'Aussie's' are actually selling on Etsy and the vast aray of talents that there are!
Anyway, I posted off a 'Tilda' dress, some hair accessories and choccies to my partner Tamara and she sent me these gorgeous goodies. Tamara makes handmade papercuts and I must say must have a very steady hand and lots of patience! So, my request to Tamara was some letters for the kids rooms, unframed because that is something I can do myself. Check out Tamara's store at; www.tamaradesigns.etsy.com for more of her goodies papercut goodies.
